Özet, Erasmus+ Project Results platformunda yayımlanan İngilizce metindir.
Organization Lingua decided to organise the workshop aimed at presenting migrants’ different stores and migrants’ experiences through the prism of the video lense in the form of a documentary, responding to the youth’s appeal. The appeal had a collective overtone. The youngsters’ goal and at the same time need was to sensitize people and lead an open, intercultural dialogue.
Their other goals were indicated and closely related to their needs:
a. greater solidarity in Europe
b. conducting an open and international discourse, with no limits
c. greater tolerance or respect for human dignity
d. creating cohesive Europe through cooperation of several organizations acting on behalf of youth
e. deepening language knowledge and skills
f. popularization of European integration
g. reaching target groups that are socially excluded or exposed to social exclusion (documentary also with subtitles)
h. spreading the problem of migration
The project promoted cultural and religious diversification, tended to European solidarity and cohesion through a collective concern, shaped a sense of entrepreneurship or creativity. The workshop also popularized youth participation in social actions, that were particularly designed by youngsters.
The project participants were 42 people aged 17-25 (6 people from each country). They were young CREATORs, out of whom there were three-person teams (one team in one country) that shot the film material in refugee camps.
In the project there were21 youngsters with fewer opportunities (3 people from each country) with economic, geographical and social obstacles.
The project activities included: promotion and project PR, preparatory visit, international online meetings, youth exchange (linguistic and cultural preparation, “mind map” module, film editing, English subtitles, film festival), management in consortium.
Methodology: discussion panels, demonstration, videoconference, simulations, drama, discourse, multimedia presentations, “group flower”, ICT tools.
Tangible results: a documentary based on a migrant’s factual life (film); Youthpass certificates.
Other results: increase of language communication skills (English), shaping or strengthening the attitudes of tolerance, respect for human dignity, greater ability to lead open intercultural and interreligious dialogue, better understanding of different cultures, overcoming internal barriers – raising self-esteem, developing a sense of entrepreneurship and initiative, greater involvement in creating cohesive Europe.
The project vastly influenced on a local, regional, national and European level through reaching a wide audience, including disadvantaged and disabled people.
The documentary is widely spread among participants and partner organizations through You Tube channel and is accessible through Open Source, which still contributes to European popularization of this idea, popularization of the need for intercultural dialogue and creating a cohesive and sustainable Europe. This form of project dissemination accounts for a long-term benefit.
Besides, the enhanced values and the satisfied needs will have a long-term influence on participants because the values embedded in youth’s awareness will constitute an instrument of a youngster’s personal change.
