The project \u201cDeveloping and adapting non-formal education methods to the needs of young refugees" is a six day training course in December 2017 bringing to Austria 33 youth workers from Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Lithuania.<\/p>\n

The project is built on our experiences working with unaccompanied minor refugees (UMR) and the outcomes of the training course "Non-formal education in the integration of UMR". The project is based on sharing experience and good practices as well as developing, adapting, practicing and reflecting on workshops that would meet the needs of young refugees. During the training course youth workers will be working closely together with a group of naccompanied minor refugees when developing the toolkit in order to tailor it to the needs of young refugees (target group).<\/p>\n

Participants will not only be working in groups discussing and discovering the theoretical frames and possible methods, but will have the opportunity to develop step-by-step workshops with different methods together, try them out with UMR and receive feedback from the target group. These workshops will be included in the toolkit.<\/p>\n

As the social inclusion and integration of this category of youth at risk is a priority for EU now, THE GENERAL AIM of the project is to develop better understanding for this young people, and provide youth workers with a toolkit including tailored workshops for the target group and advices on how to adapt workshops for the target group.<\/p>\n

OBJECTIVES:
\n – to equip youth workers (and organisations) with a tool they could use when working with migrants and refugees, and enable them first hand experience in working with minor refugees;
\n – to empower young refugees as they are actively involved in the process of the toolkit developement;
\n – to enhance intercultural awareness and human rights awareness;
