PROJECT OBJECTIVES
\nThe project aimed to offer youth workers from different countries and European organizations, effective tools to work with young people, with a special focus on the young Neet, and other categories of young people at risk of social exclusion.
\nThe methodology that the course aimed to transmit to the trainers was based on a maieutic approach, as a way to encourage the emergence of the personal resources and unexpressed potentialities of young people, with a specific focus to:
\n– young NEETs;
\n– young migrants and refugees;
\n– young people drop out from school;
\n– young people at risk of deviance;
\n– young people living in culturally or economically deprived areas.<\/p>\n

In particular, the educational path that youth workers learned had two specific purposes:
\n– allow young people to become aware of their abilities, attitudes, values, and in this way help to define their own personal "life project";
\n– enable young people to learn about their living environment and interact with it, giving their contribution of thoughts and actions.
\nParticularly the project achieved these objectives using the autobiographical and digital storytelling methodologies. The self-narration is in fact one of the most effective ways to promote self – knowledge, and so strengthen self-confidence on personal abilities. In this sense the specific teaching methodologies adopted, represented a powerful and effective tool to promote the social inclusion of disadvantaged youths.<\/p>\n

Uygulama<\/h3>\n

ACTIVITY
\nThe central activity of the project saw the creation of a training course for youth workers from various European countries, lasting one week, aimed at the following learning:
\n– how to use autobiographical paths and Digital Storytelling methods, to promote the social inclusion of young people;
\n– better knowledge of the phenomenon of social inclusion of young people in Europe;
\n– how to adapt the training courses to the context in which each trainer works.
\nThe project saw the participation of 22 educators and socio-educational animators of different European nationalities, of different ages.<\/p>\n

NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS
\nIn particular, the project participants belonged to the following contexts:
\n– educators and other youth workers working with young people at risk of social exclusion;
\n– youth center operators;
\n– operators who work with disadvantaged young people in extracurricular activities, in
\nnon-formal learning contexts.<\/p>\n

IMPACT ON PARTICIPANTS
\nThe project had a significant impact on the participants, especially in terms of increasing skills in working with young people, aimed at social inclusion and developing the potential of young people themselves. In particular, the acquired skills pertain to:
\n– Use of the Digital Storytelling methodology as a "Digital Curricula Story" – The possibility of applying the digital storytelling process as a form of empowerment of young people at risk of social exclusion, which represents for youth workers and the young people they work with, a great educational resource, capable of increasing self-esteem, knowledge of one's abilities and one's life plan; at the same time the narrations made by the young participants can represent a support to their employability, being a sort of digital curriculum (Digital Curricula Story), as well as a way to make a contribution to the community thanks to the communicative potential of video narrations.
\n– general skills of youth leaders in the field of soft skills, and in particular in the management of the group and the educational relationship, with a greater educational impact and greater self-efficacy and job satisfaction.
\n– Finally, skills in the field of internationalization, such as increased ability to cooperate in the transnational context, as well as greater knowledge of European contexts, and the Erasmus Plus program, as an opportunity for action at European level and beyond.<\/p>\n

IMPACT ON ORGANIZATIONS
\nThe increase in skills of the operators was obviously reflected in a greater skills of the organizations themselves concerning the educational work with young people, with particular reference to the methodologies studied in the course, not previously present in the "toolbox" of the respective organizations.
\nThis result has also translated into the implementation of further projects, with the involvement of several of the organizations in the consortium.<\/p>\n

IMPACT ON TARGET GROUPS AND STAKEHOLDERS
\nThe learning and acquisitions described above were reflected in an impact both on the target represented by the young people involved in the educational activities carried out by the operators participating in the course, and on the stakeholder level with which the participants, and above all the organisations, came into contact, during and after the project.
\nThe impact, for this specific target, consists above all in a greater knowledge of Digital Storytelling methodologies in working with young people, as well as in a greater sensitivity and interest in the importance of the Erasmus Plus programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
