Exchange and adapt concrete methodologies such as Functional Juggling—a technique developed to make circus accessible to people with motor, cognitive, or sensory differences—through hands-on workshops, peer observation, and real-time testing with local groups, including young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and minors under judicial supervision.
2. Co-develop gender-responsive circus practices, integrating tools from feminist pedagogy and non-violent communication into daily facilitation. This includes designing activities that challenge gender stereotypes in circus (e.g., who “should” do acrobatics or juggling), using non-sexist language in instructions, and creating safe, consent-based spaces for physical contact—especially crucial in aerial and partner acrobatics.
3. Build shared frameworks for “safe spaces” inspired by the Ideas of Inclusion approach (EYCO, 2022), using participatory methods like the Safe Spaces Carousel and Flower of Power to reflect on power dynamics, privilege, and intersectionality. These reflections will directly inform how participants structure their own community workshops back home.
Engage directly with local Canarian communities during the exchange, including migrant youth, rural groups from peripheral municipalities, and associations working with people with disabilities. This ensures that learning is not abstract, but tested in real contexts of diversity and vulnerability, in line with the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy’s call to “bring European activities to the local level” (EC, 2021).
4. Co-create a practical toolkit of transferable protocols—including session plans, accessibility checklists, and conflict-resolution scripts using Non-Violent Communication (NVC)—that youth workers can immediately implement in their own settings. This responds to the documented need, expressed in FEECSE trainer meetings, for “ready-to-use, field-tested resources” rather than generic guidelines.
Ultimately, we do not aim merely to “train” youth workers, but to equip them as reflective practitioners who can critically adapt social circus to their local realities—whether in an outermost region like Gran Canaria, a Nordic welfare context, or a multi-ethnic border area in eastern Turkey. By grounding our work in embodied practice, ethical facilitation, and community dialogue, we contribute to a more inclusive, decolonial, and socially just vision of youth work across Europe.

Uygulama

Planned Activities (7-day Exchange in Gran Canaria)
The exchange is designed as an immersive, practice-based laboratory where youth workers co-create, test, and refine inclusive social circus methodologies. Key activities include:

Experiential Workshops: Hands-on sessions in Functional Juggling, clowning, body expression, and adapted acrobatics, focused on universal design and trauma-informed practice. Participants will learn how to modify techniques for diverse needs (e.g., neurodiversity, mobility limitations, sensory sensitivities).
Co-Creation Labs: In small international teams, participants will design short, modular social circus sequences tailored to specific target groups—such as young people with ASD, survivors of gender-based violence, migrants, and youth from rural or ultra-peripheral areas.
Peer-Led Facilitation: Participants will apply their learning by preparing and delivering mini-sessions to their peers, receiving structured feedback from trainers and fellow participants to strengthen their inclusive facilitation skills.
Pilot Workshop with Local Youth: Teams will co-facilitate a real-world session with a vulnerable local group (e.g., minors under judicial supervision, youth with disabilities, or migrant adolescents), allowing immediate testing of methods and direct observation of impact.
Community Inclusion Day – Open Public Showcase: On the final day, the project culminates in a public, community-facing event open to 200+ local residents, co-organised with Gran Canarian grassroots organisations. This is not a performance, but an interactive fair of inclusive circus:
Local families, educators, social workers, and young people from MSB’s community projects (including those with ASD, migrant backgrounds, and rural communities) will be invited to participate in adapted workshops.
Participants will co-facilitate stations on Functional Juggling, sensory-aware acrobatics, non-verbal communication games, and gender-inclusive creation.
The event embodies the Erasmus+ principle of “European activities at the local level” (Inclusion & Diversity Strategy, 2021), ensuring that learning is shared beyond the project group and directly benefits the host community.
To extend the impact beyond the local level, the event will also include a digital visibility component: short video capsules and testimonials will be recorded and shared through partners’ networks (FEECSE, EYCO, Sirkus Magenta’s Nordic network, GEZİDER’s digital platforms). A live-streaming option will be explored for at least one activity, allowing remote European stakeholders to witness the methodologies in practice.”

Daily Reflection Circles: Using Kolb’s experiential learning cycle and Non-Violent Communication (NVC), these spaces ensure emotional safety, collective processing, and documentation of insights—key for trauma-informed and inclusive practice (as recommended in the Ideas of Inclusion Handbook).
Toolkit Co-Creation: Participants will collaboratively develop a practical Social Circus Toolkit, including adaptable session plans, inclusion checklists, safety guidelines, and short case studies grounded in real implementation.
Dissemination & Follow-Up Planning: Guidance on local implementation, visibility, and integration into existing programmes through networks like FEECSE and EYCO.
Evaluation & Recognition: Structured assessment through self-reflection, peer feedback, and trainer observation, culminating in Youthpass/EUROPASS certification.
Digital Continuity: A shared online workspace (Google Drive + Padlet) will support post-mobility resource sharing, monitoring of local implementations, and ongoing peer mentoring.

Sonuçlar

This project will actively contribute to the professional recognition and systemic integration of social circus as a validated, trauma-informed, and transferable methodology within European youth work. By addressing the current fragmentation of pedagogical approaches, it will co-create shared standards rooted in inclusion, safety, and adaptability—ensuring relevance across diverse local realities, including geographically peripheral contexts like Gran Canaria (an EU Outermost Region).

Expected Results
1.24 youth workers will acquire concrete, accessible, and replicable tools—including Functional Juggling, gender-sensitive facilitation techniques, non-violent communication frameworks, and inclusive collective creation protocols—designed for use with young people facing multiple barriers (disability, migration, trauma, rural isolation).
2. A “Social Circus Toolkit” will be co-created as an open educational resource (OER), featuring:
3.Practical session plans with universal design principles,
4.Real-life case studies from pilot workshops with vulnerable groups,
5. Safety and adaptation guidelines aligned with the Ideas of Inclusion approach (EYCO, 2022),
6.Reflection prompts on power, privilege, and intersectionality (e.g., Flower of Power methodology).
7.Participating organisations will strengthen their capacity to design and deliver high-quality, inclusive programmes that integrate social circus into regular youth work—moving beyond one-off activities toward systemic practice.
8.Youth workers’ competences will be formally recognised through Youthpass and Europass, validating their skills in inclusive facilitation, intercultural dialogue, and creative pedagogy.
Impact
9. At the local level: Over 720 young people with fewer opportunities—including migrants, youth with ASD, survivors of gender-based violence, and rural/island communities—will directly benefit from newly implemented inclusive circus workshops. The project culminates in a Community Inclusion Day in Gran Canaria, where methodologies are shared with 200+ local residents, embodying the Erasmus+ principle of “European activities at the local level” (Inclusion & Diversity Strategy, p. 14).
10. At the organisational level: Partners will enhance their ability to collaborate across sectors (social, cultural, educational) and leverage digital tools (e.g., GEZİDER’s AI-supported platforms) to scale impact. MSB and Circo Volátil will institutionalise new protocols for working with judicially supervised minors and survivors of violence, respectively.
11. At the European level: The project will reinforce strategic networks—FEECSE, EYCO, and ACA—by feeding co-created methodologies into national trainer meetings and European policy dialogues. This contributes to the visibility, legitimacy, and sustainability of social circus as a tool for inclusion, aligning with the EU Youth Strategy’s pillars on “Inclusion” and “Connecting EU with Youth”.
Ultimately, the project transforms social circus from a niche practice into a recognized, evidence-based approach—proving that innovation thrives not despite, but because of, geographical and social peripherality.

Gençlik çalışanları hareketliliği · Asociación de Circo MSB (İspanya) koordinatörlüğünde; GEZİDER ortak kurum olarak yer aldı.

Initial and continuous training for teachers, trainers and other education staff, International relations and development cooperation, New learning and teaching methods and approaches
[117,118,258
post-3648","gezider_project","type-gezider_project","status-publish","hentry","gezider_partner-asociacion-cultural-volatil","gezider_partner-asociacion-de-circo-msb","gezider_partner-sirkus-magenta-ry
["GET
