This initiative sought to address the challenges and opportunities presented by multicultural societies through educational and interactive experiences focusing on different cultures and religions.

A primary goal of the project was to promote cultural awareness and diversity. By presenting various cultural traditions and religious beliefs, the project educated its participants about the wide variety of global perspectives, thereby fostering a more comprehensive understanding and appreciation of this diversity.

Additionally, the project facilitated cross-cultural dialogue. It provided a platform for participants to engage in open discussions about cultural and religious differences, which promoted empathy and reduced potential misunderstandings. This objective was crucial in helping individuals learn to navigate and respect diverse cultural landscapes.

Community connection was another significant focus. The project aimed to strengthen community ties by bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds. This not only enhanced community bonds but also encouraged collaboration and support across cultural lines, proving essential for cohesive community development.

Finally, the project contributed to educational enrichment by offering real-life interactions and discussions. These experiences were intended to complement traditional educational formats, providing participants with a deeper, more practical understanding of the world's cultural and religious complexities.

Overall, the "Cultural Ambassadors in Action" project was a transformative initiative that educated and empowered individuals to bridge cultural divides, thereby enhancing mutual respect and understanding within the community.

Uygulama

1. The 2021-2027 programme's main points were explained in the session. Participants were quizzed on the programme's details, with each team conducting a quiz to assess their knowledge. Any unclear points were identified, and additional explanations were provided.
2. Following this, the facilitator gave a brief briefing on Youth Pass, explaining how they would deal with the 8 basic competencies in the evaluations. The importance of Youth Pass was emphasized and explained in detail during the session.
3. An interactive presentation on importance of history, art and culture in international relations was made by a participant from Azerbaijan named Ameena.
4. White cotton t-shirts were given to participants. They were tasked with creating personalized designs representing their culture and heritage using provided materials, meant to be used throughout the project. This added a creative and personalized touch to the cultural project.

5. Participants were divided into groups by their country of origin. Each group focused on sharing the stereotypical views commonly held about different countries. This setup enabled participants from various countries to confront and debunk these stereotypes, fostering a deeper understanding by directly addressing and correcting misconceptions.

6. Participants were educated about xenophobia and how it occurs and the influence of historians, thereafter they prepared a poster representing, how xenophobia has affected them and how we can all work together and eliminate this problem.
7. In a country specific task, participants were asked to choose a historical figure who impacted their country’s culture and heritage. They researched about their lives, accomplishments, and why they are especially significant to their country. After conducting research, they created a presentation of the person they've chosen, highlighting the most obvious characteristics.
8. A "living library" activity was conducted where participants were split into eight teams. Each team received three versions of a historical story: a completely fabricated version, a distorted version, and an accurate version with true facts. The teams were tasked with researching and identifying the correct version. After reaching a consensus, each team narrated the accurate historical story aloud to the other groups.
9. A general world history quiz was also created with the help of a volunteer named Esra from team Türkiye. The quiz was hosted in a very unique way on a app where every correct answer gave some crypto coins to the participants, in the end the person with the most crypto coins won.
10. Participants were divided into four groups to discuss the origins of various religions. Each team was assigned one specific religion to research, chosen based on the number of followers. The religions selected were Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
11. After learning about the origins of these religions, the participants, still in their groups, discussed interfaith tolerance, as well as the differences and similarities among the religions. They presented their findings in the form of a drama video.
12. A visit to a nearby church in Gelsenkirchen was organized, where participants learned more about the history and culture of Christianity.
13. An activity called dance as an existence was organized where all the national teams researched about their historic dance forms and dance related cultural stories. Thereafter they educated other national teams about their rich culture and heritage.
14. A dance workshop was also organized, providing a unique cultural exchange experience. Participants from each national team took turns teaching their country's traditional dance forms to members of other nationalities. This interactive session not only allowed everyone to learn new dance styles but also facilitated a deeper appreciation and understanding of diverse cultural expressions.
15. Following this activity, there was a dance demonstration where participants showcased what they had learned. Each group performed the traditional dance forms they had been taught by their peers, highlighting the rich cultural diversity present in the workshop. The demonstration was a vibrant and energetic display of newly acquired skills and cultural appreciation, with participants celebrating the beauty of each other's traditions.
16. In the concept map activity, participants identified keywords under subject, target audience, and purpose. They visualized project progression and devised dissemination plans on the concept map, collaboratively discussing and incorporating relevant keywords.

Participant Profile and Number:
Our project engaged 9 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Türkiye, Spain, Jordan and Germany. Each country had six youth participants. In line with our inclusive objective, each country included at least one economically disadvantaged young person aged 18-30 among the participants.

Sonuçlar

The project served as a compelling backdrop for an Erasmus youth exchange group, and the project aimed to address the pressing issues of interfaith intolerance, lack of knowledge about other cultural and heritages. By focusing on these challenges, the project seeks to educate and empower individuals to bridge cultural divides, thereby enhancing mutual respect and understanding within the community.

Results and impact of the project:
1.
