It is a fact that in this turbulent and disunified times in Europe, the arts, such as theatre, pantomime and music, which are supposed to be the fundamentals of each society and a bridge of understanding and cooperation among nations, have lost its importance and are heavily undermined today all over Europe. While working together with our partners from Macedonia and other countries we descovered this problem together and we decided to impement this youth exchange in Macedonia as a country who is striving to join in European Union even that in the history had many problems and obstacles still their humor and theather is on high level. We believe that all youth from all youth and the upcoming generations, which carries the importance of building a better and more unified Europe, needs to be educated and introduced to the power of theatre and music and its ways of sharing powerful messages, inspiring the youth and ensuring cooperation and deeper understanding among european countries.
The project’s aim is to merge the youth from several european countries wth a different historical, political, artistic and social background and bring them togeher in a free aristic enviorment in an effort to introduce the fundamentals of theatre, music and pantomime. While creating theatre and music and overcoming their differences, the youth will be instructed and guided in the spirit of the European family, coegsitence, tolerance and multi-culturalism. The participating countries will be EU countries participants of the WWII, and the goal will be forgetting the past and looking together for a brighter future.The instructor’s goal in this project is: introduce to and teach the fundamentals of theatre and music to the beginners, reveal another level of human interactions, and prepare the participants more compact, cooperative, interactive and free world.
The participant’s objective is, while learning about the artistic expression of theatre and music, to go deep into themselves and learn about the universiality of human emotion and expressing it artistically. This project will increase not only the participants knowledge of the arts, but can help them communicate and cooperate with people from different backgrounds and express themselves universally. This project, on the other hand, will provide a fresh start and a new platform for similar activitieis around Europe with which the youth will increase their artistic interactions, overcome cultural differences and incite them in thinking differently, as a starting point for making the world a better European place.
In that sence the objectives of the Project are :
-Teaching the fundamentals of theatre and music
-Surpassing cultural differences
-Using the universal voice of artistic expression
-Forgetting the past, learning the consequences of war and sharing love
-Having a more compact European youth
The number of participants and participant profiles:
In our project, there will be instructing participants in total from 7 countries. we have decided that the age limit is 16-24.In total, there will be 41 participants.
Description of the methodology to be used and activities: A team of theatre and music professionals will work with the participants on practically teaching the basics of theatre, pantomime and music. A music studio and a hands-on music equipment will be provided for the participants in order to learn the craft of musicians. A theatre professional on a stage will instruct the participants the craft, rules and methods of acting and pantomime. There will be group activities: warm-up theatical excercises, emotional memory games, alexander method for body language, concentration games; and also individual activities: self-reflection diary entires, one-on-one self-discovery with the instructor. The final product with be a theatrical perfromance filled with music.
Expected results and a brief description of the effect: The final project – a short perfromance on the power of love and coegxistence – will be recorded and presented online to the world-wide audience, as a motivation for other artistic activities that will involve the universal language of the arts and that will incite and increase international artistic cooperations and interactions for a tighter and more compact european future.
Benifits of the Project ın a long term: Begin a new wave of international project that will raise awarness on the need of youth cooperation from different european countries and provide a platform for dedicated young talented to share powerful messages of love, acceptance, coegistance, piece and tolerance through the universal mediums of theatre, music and pantomime. The long term effect is instilling responsibilitiy on the youth for continuing and preserving the bridge of peace and understanding among countries and cultures and creating a more capable generation which will create a more free world.
